Dentistry 

At Tyrrells Equine we are extremely proud of our dentistry services.  Our vets are all experienced in dentistry and routinely carry the latest equipment to ensure the best possible finish for your horse's mouth and minimising risks associated with dentistry for both horse and handler.

Our experienced vets take time to perform a thorough examination of the mouth and teeth. We will then use a rasp with an electronic diamond burr to reduce overgrowths and sharp points to improve the teeth’s alignment.  Specialist equipment such as mirrors, picks and probes are also used to identify any further problems which may otherwise go unnoticed.

In addition to our standard service, our principal vet Jason Tyrrell is a member of the British Association of Equine Dental Technicians which means we are also able to provide more advanced dental treatments, such as fillings and extractions, in house when required.

In our clinic we also routinely use our orascope camera to fully assess the inside of the mouth which is essential during advanced dental procedures.
